Olympus introduces its new LS-100 portable linear PCM audio recording device with two internal 90-degree directional stereo condenser microphones that capture lower-bass frequencies and louder sound with less clipping. It supports uncompressed 24bit/96Khz linear PCM digital recording.

The Olympus LS-100 comes with two quarter-inch XLR/standard phone combination inputs which support phantom power at 48/24 volts to power a variety of high-quality external microphones. It also features multi-tracking with two-channel simultaneous recording and eight-channel playback. There is built-in instrumentation amplifier cuts slight noise and amplifies signals, allowing the use of lengthy cables.

The LS-100 has a 2-inch backlight LCD display and 4GB internal memory and a SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot. It features Playback Synchro Recording feature enables recording of an additional track while listening to another. The portable recorder includes Voice Guidance that lets the user operate the LS-100 without looking at the display, and Voice Activation for automatic start and stop of the recorder.

Olympus’ new compact LS-100 Multi-Track Linear PCM recorder will be released in February 2012 for $399.
