Canon announced its new imageFORMULA P-215 Personal Document Scanner, a compact device for mobile information capture. The mobile scanner is powered by a single USB cable. With a 20-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). it is able to scan a batch of up to 20 documents at its maximum scanning speed of 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) in color or black and white.
The imageFORMULA P-215 measures just 11-inch long and weighs just over 2 pounds. It features 600dpi optical resolution using CMOS image sensor and RGB LED light source. With a sleek design, the scanner comes with an integrated card scanner, capable of handling plastic ID cards, driver licenses and embossed cards. It also features Character Emphasis and Auto Resolution to improve the legibility and clarity of hard-to-capture documents.
The P-215 is bundled with CaptureOnTouch, which enables users to scan directly to select cloud applications such as Evernote, Microsoft SharePoint, and Google Docs, further improving accessibility to information and collaboration. It also incorporates Windows ISIS / TWAIN drivers and a Mac TWAIN driver for easy integration with third-party document capture and management. The Canon imageFORMULA P-215 is available for $325.
