Addonics launches the new 5-Port HPM-XU Port Multiplier (model AD5HPMREU), which is the most advanced in the market featuring eSATA and USB 3.0 interface. With the 5-Port HPM-XU, users can connect up to five SATA hard drives/SSDs to any system via a single eSATA or USB cable, and the five hard drives can be set up to appear as five individual drives, just like connecting through a USB hub, or appear as a single RAID volume.
The 5-Port HPM-XU Port Multiplier has integrated hardware RAID controller for enhanced performance, supporting RAID0 (Striping), RAID1 (Mirroring), RAID3, RAID5 (Parity), RAID10 (Mirrored Striped), JBOD (Concatenation), Clone Mode (N-Way Mirror). RAID configurations can be set via a set of onboard dip switches or the included software utility. The multipler works not only with hard drives but also Blu-ray/DVD optical drives and Compact Flash or Micro Drive using Addonics SATA CF adapters.
Addonics 5-Port HPM-XU can also be installed onto a standard PCI slot with optional PCI Converter Bracket (PCISCBKT), allowing any desktop PC case to be used as an external hard drive storage enclosure. The 5-Port HPM-XU fits perfectly inside the Addonics family of tower and rack storage products, plus many standard multi-bay enclosures with a standard SCSI-1 connector cut out. It costs $99.
