Research In Motion (RIM) refresh its Bold series with the new 9900 and 9930 models. The new 9900 series is the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone yet measuing just just 10.5mm thick. The new Bold comes with QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen and is equipped with support for NFC (Near Field Communications). The new phones run BlackBerry OS 7.

The Bold 9900 supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA 3.5G networks while the 9930 adds support for CDMA EVDO network. They are powered by Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz processor with 768MB RAM and 8GB internal memory. The 9900 and 9930 feature a 2.8-inch 640×480 touchscreen display with 287ppi density, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording, flash, GPS support with Blackberry Maps, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connecitivity. You can find a microSD card slot for expansion.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 series is crafted with premium materials including a brushed stainless steel frame that puts the finishing touch on a truly outstanding smartphone. Sprint is going to launch the Bold 9930 this Fall and AT&T is planning to release the Bold 9900 with 4G branding.
