Sony introduces the HD-PG5 USB 3.0 external hard drive that are compatible with Sony’s products. The drive can connects to BRAVIA HDTVs via USB for direct recording of HD television programmes from the TV’s tuner or connected cable/satellite service, and allows users to do PC-free transfers of video footage from compatible Handycam camcorders with Direct Copy function, including the new DCR-SX21E and DCR-SR21.
The 2.5-inch Sony HD-PG5 uses USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface and has 500GB capacity. It comes with Password Protection Manager software thta uses powerful 256-bit security to safeguard your files against unauthorised access. The HD-PG5 is pre-formated with NTFS file system and there is the FAT32-formatted HD-PG5U model.
