HP updates its t5740e Thin Client with enhanced hardware and software to deliver improved responsiveness and multimedia experiences. Powered by Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor, the t5740e (model XL425AT) packs 2GB of DDR3 RAM and Intel GL40 graphics. The thin client offers six USB 2.0 ports, VGA and DisplayPort output, Ethernet LAN port, built-in speakers, headphone in and microphone in as well as serial and two PS/2 ports.

The HP t5740e is also equipped with Atheros 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi adapter for wireless connectivity. It supports Citrix, Microsoft or VMware environments. With a PCIe x4 / PCI expansion slot, users may want to equip the Thin Client with Broadcom Crystal HD mini-PCIe hardware accelerator and AMD FirePro 2270 Dual Head PCIe or ATI FirePro 2460 Quad Head PCIe cards that support up to four simultaneous digital displays of content.

Coming in August, the HP t5740e is available with:

  • Broadcom Crystal HD mini-PCIe hardware accelerator for enhanced video playback and graphics performance at $529.
  • Broadcom Crystal HD mini-PCIe hardware accelerator, plus AMD FirePro 2270 Dual Head PCIe card for dual digital display performance at $669.
  • Broadcom Crystal HD mini-PCIe hardware accelerator, plus ATI FirePro 2460 Quad Head PCIe card for quad digital display support at $949.
