Axis Communications announced its M50 series, the world’s smallest, ceiling mount pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) dome network cameras with HDTV performance. The new M50 cameras offer 360-degree surveillance (±180˚ pan, 90° tilt and 3x digital zoom) with up to HDTV 720p resolution, and are designed to offer security directors and business managers a highly discreet and affordable surveillance solution for monitoring indoor areas. Two models are available, the M5013 with SVGA 800×600 resolution and the M5014 with HDTV-standard 720p resolution.
The M50 series measures 5.1-inch wide and 2.20inch high. It is able to deliver multiple, individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams simultaneously. The cameras are supported by AXIS Camera Station video management software. AXIS M5013 will be priced at $499 and the M5014 costs $599.
