According to ARMdevices.net, Archos is planning two budget-friendly Android tablets, the ARNOVA 8 and the ARNOVA 10, both powered by Rockchip RK2818 ARM9 processor and running Android 2.1. The ARNOVA 10 has a 10.1-inch 1024×600 resistive touchscreen and 4GB or 8GB internal storage while the ARNOVA 8 will have a 8-inch screen and 4GB storage. The former starts at $199 and the latter at $149.
These ARNOVA tablets feature WiFi, a front VGA camera for video chat, microSD card slot, built-in speaker and microphone, G-sensor and support for 720p video playback. It is said that Archos will release in April enhanced version of the ARNOVA 8 and 10 with a more powerful RK2918 Rockchip, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and capacitive touchscreen.
