Nikon announced a new compact digital camera, the CoolPix P300 with a specially crafted f/1.8 NIKKOR aperture lens that employs High Refractive lndex glass to deliver sharp images with high contrast. The camera is equipped with the EXPEED C2 Image Processing Engine and a 12.2 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor and its lens offers 4.2x optical zoom and 24mm wide angle.
The CoolPix P300 features len shift vibration reduction, ISO up to 3200, high-speed continous shooting at about 8fps, Easy Panorama mode, filter effects and Night Landscape mode. It also includes HDR (high dynamic range) setting that shoots three consecutive shots at varying exposure and combines the three for a single photo with no loss of detail in highlights or shadows, and a broader range of tones. The P300 has a 3-inch LCD display.
The Nikon CoolPix P300 records Full HD 1920×1080 video at 30fps and offers HDMI connector. Coming in Marhc 2011, the P300 will be available in black for $329.95.
