Sony has two entry-level compact digital cameras, the 12.1 Megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W510 and the 14.1 Megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W530. Each of them gets Super HAD image sensor and a Sony Lens with 4x Optical Zoom and 26mm equivalent wide angle and a 2.7-inch LCD display. As entry-level models, they don’t include HD video recording but 640 x 480p VGA video recording at 30fps.
The W510 and W530 feature Face Detection, SteadyShot image stabilization, Smile Shutter, Anti-blink Function, up to 3200 ISO, Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode, Intelligent Auto Mode, Soft Skin mode and Sweep Panorama mode. They also include the Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) Standard and Plus that uses a sophisticated algorithm to help recover shadows and highlights, resulting more natural images with clearer details that more closely match what your naked eye sees.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W510 comes in silver, pink, red and black while the W530 will be available in black, blue, pink, silver and green. They will be released in March for $109 and $129 respectively.
