Freecom, part of Mitsubishi Kagaku Media, introduces the Mobile Drive Mg which is the world’s thinnest mobile hard drive that is just 10mm thick. Designed for use with Mac computers, the drive has an ultra-lightweight and strong magnesium enclosure with a design matching Apple’s MacBook.
The Mobile Drive Mg uses USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface offering up to 130MB/s data transfer rate, and is backward compatible with USB 2.0. Three models are available, the US$89.99 320GB USB 3.0 model, the $129.99 750GB USB 3.0 model, and the $169.99 750GB model with both USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 connections.
