Maingear introduces the Clutch series ultraportable notebooks, including the 13.3-inch Clutch 13 Road Warrior for business travelers and students, and the 15.6-inch Clutch 15 flexible notebook. Both of them ship with an optional docking station that includes DVI and VGA out, four USB 2.0 ports, audio out, LAN out, and even an optical bay supporting DVD or Blu-ray drives.
The Clutch 13 is powered by Intel Core-i3 330UM 1.2GHz processor, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 750GB hard drive or 512GB SSD, and integrated Intel HD graphics. It’s 13.3-inch screen offers 1366×768 resolution and LED-backlit. The bigger Clutch 15, on the other hand, sports a choice of Core i3, i5, i7 processors, up to 8GB RAM and optional NVIDIA GeForce 330M 1GB video card. It also packs up to 750GB hard drive or 512GB SSD.
Both notebooks support 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, Intel Anti-theft technology and offers HDMI output, eSATA port and ExpressCARD34 slot. The Clutch 15 adds a 3-in-1 card reader and a 1.3 Megapixel webcam. Clutch 13 measures 337 x 216 24.5 (mm) and weighs 1.5kg while the Clutch 15 measures 390 x 249 x 34 (mm) at 2.8kg.
