Sony SMP-N100 Network Media Player with WiFi

Sony Europe announced a new ‘Network Media Player’, the SMP-N100 that combines streaming client, Wi-Fi and BRAVIA Internet Video in a compact package. The HD media player offers Full HD 1080p video output via HDMI and supports dts 2.0+Digital Out and Dolby Digital Plus high-def audio codecs.

Sony SMP-N100 includes built-in Ethernet and WiFi connectivity and supports BRAVIA Internet Video for access to a wide range of online content. Sony’s IP Content Noise Reduction is inlcuded to improve streamed video. The device supports most media formats including DivX HD, MKV, AVCHD. Other than playback from USB storage via a front-panel USB port, the WiFi network connectivity also allows SMP-N100 to stream content from computers or storage devices on a home network, wirelessly.

Sony SMP-N100 network media player comes with a remote control and provides Sony XrossMedia Bar on-screen menu system. It’s Monolithic design mathces the latest Sony BRAVIA HDTVs. The device will be available in October.
