Acer announced the new ultra slim AT85 series, which is actually the big brother of the small-screen AT26 line. The first model to be released in the AT85 line is the 42-inch AT4285 with Full HD 1920×1080 resolution, LED-backlit and 100Hz refresh rate. The AT4285 also features the Gorilla Glass, a special protective glass extremely resistant – anti shock and anti scratch- that will assure a total protection from any disaster. Corning’s Gorilla Glass can also be found on Apple iPhone 4, Motorola Droid X, Samsung Galaxy S and some other smartphones.
The Acer AT4285 includes the InfiniContrast for realistic images, 3D Comb Filtering eliminates fluttering for more realistic colors, 24p image speed and HDMI input. The AT85 series comes with USB port and built-in USB multimedia player for MP3 and JPEG playback from USB storage directly. It also has integrated PVR (personal video recorder) function with Time-shift that records TV programs to USB external hard drives.
Acer AT4285 supports DVB HD, DVB-C, CI+ HDTV standards. It will be released in later October, along with a 32-inch model.
