In addition to the translucent mirror-equipped Alpha A33 and A55, Sony announced its flagship Alpha A580 and Alpha A560 digital SLR cameras, both capable of HD video recording in AVCHD format and 7fps shooting in Speed Priority Continuous Advance mode. Equipped with BIONZ image processor, the A580 and A560 gets 16.2 Megapixel and 14.2 Megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS image sensor respectively.
The A580 and A560 both feature 15-point phase-detection autofocus system, 3D Sweep Panorama, Focus Check Live View mode, Quick AF Live View, Auto HDR, Multi-frame Noise Reduction, in-body SteadyShot INSIDE sensor shift image stabilization system, ISO 100-12800, and of course anti-dust system. They have a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD display with 2-way tilting mechanism and a fixed eye-level, penta-Dach-mirror type Optical Viewfinder.
Sony’s new DSLRs are compatible with Sony α lens, Minolta and Konica Minolta AF lens. They use Memory Stick PRO Duo and SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card. The A580 will be released in October in Europe while the A560 will be released in the US in October for $650 for body only or $750 for camera body and 18-55mm kit lens.
