Addonics launches the new Cipher Drive SC (model CDSC-02) portable hard drive encryption solution. Basically, it is a hard drive enclosure with integrated Smart Card reader and keypad for two factors authentication. The CDSC-02 features 256bit AES full disk hardware encryption that is NIST and FIPS certified to fully protect your data, an user-configurable PIN and admin password for administrative mode.
The Cipher Drive SC supports any 2.5-inch SATA hard drive of 9mm – 9.5mm height and offers USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 interfaces. The CDSC-02 along is priced at $439 or you can get the Cipher Drive SC with 500GB hard drive bundle (CDSC500-02) for $499.95.
