MSI releases in the US market the new P600 and S6000 slim, lightweight notebook PCs. At 5.3 5.3 lbs, the business-oriented P600 comes with built-in optical drive and 8-cell battery while the S6000 weighs 5.0 lbs with a 4-cell battery.
Both the MSI P600 (model P600-019US) and the S6000 (model S6000-017US) are powered by Intel’s Core i5-450M processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated Intel GMA HD graphics. They pack a 15.6-inch 1366×768 LCD display, a 500GB hard drive, a 3-in-1 card reader, 1.3 Megapixel webcam, stereo speakers. P600 and S6000 both support WiFi 802.11b/g/n and offers HDMI output and eSATA/USB combo port.
Like other MSI notebooks, the P600 and S6000 includes ECO Engine for longer battery life. They include the EasyFace software that authenticates users by recognizing unique facial features to help keep sensitive data safe while on the go and the Color Film Print technology, which creates an outer coating that changes colors with shifts in lighting and protects the notebook surface from scratching and day-to-day wear.
The P600-019US is available for $729.27 and the S6000-017US for $699.99.
