Panasonic announced the all-new LUMIX DMC-TS10 (aka DMC-FT10) rugged compact digital camera, an affordable alternative to the TS2. As the latest member of the rugged TS-Series, the TS10/FT10 is, in fact, not as rugged as the Lumix TS2. It is waterproof to 10 feet (33 feet on TS2), shockproof to 5 feet (10 feet on TS2), dust proof and freezeproof to 14-degree F. To further the protection, the TS10 comes with silicone jacket to help prevent scratches.
Panasonic’s TS10 is equipped with a 14.1 Megapixel sensor, a folded optics design with a 4x optical zoom lens, Venus Engine IV image processor and a 2.7-inch LCD display. The rugged camera includes Intelligent Auto (iA) mode, MEGA OIS image stabilizer, Intelligent ISO, Face Detection and Intelligent Scene Selector function. The TS10 captures 720p HD video in Motion JPEG format. There is also the High-Angle mode that makes the LCD screen extremely easy to view when the camera is held high.
Available in blue, red, black and silver, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TS10 will be released in September for $249.95.
