As mentioned before, Sony is developing a NEX camcorder. Now Sony has announced its new Handycam NEX-VG10, the world’s first consumer camcorder with interchangeable lenses. The NEX-VG10 is basically camcorder version of Sony’s NEX line. It is equipped with the same Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor used in NEX-5 and NEX-3.
The Sony NEX-VG10 can record Full HD 1920×1080 video at up to 24Mbps and 14 Megapixel still images. It comes with an E-mount 18-200mm lens optimized for video shooting that offers a powerful 11x optical zoom and features Optical Steadyshot image stabilization, BIONZ image processor, silent auto-focus system. The Full HD camcorder also sports Quad Capsule Spatial Array Stereo Microphone and a 3-inch TruBlack Xtra Fine LCD swivel display.
Sony’s NEX-VG10 Handycam accepts both Memory Stick PRO Duo/PRO-HG Duo and SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It will be available in September for about $2000.
