1&1 launches in Germany its SmartPad Android tablet with a 7-inch touchscreen display. It is boosted by a 500MHz ARM11 processor, 256MB RAM and 1GB of RAM. Android 1.6 OS is used but there is no Android Market access and so various Android apps have been pre-installed, such as RSS reader, facebook app, twitter app, picture viewer..etc.
The SmartPad is offered to new 1&1 DSL subscribers.
