NEC adds to its professional-grade P-series the new 55-inch 55-inch P551 LCD display with “industrial-strength” and a thin bezel. The P551 boasts Full HD 1920×1080 resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, up to 700cd/m2 brightness and 120Hz refresh rate.
Designed for 24/7 environments such as airports, public information, rental and staging and healthcare, NEC’s P551 features premium-grade panel with advanced thermal protection and internal temperature sensors and a sealed panel design, which provides protection against dust, grease and steam in less than optimal environments.
The NEC P551 offers DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, composite in/out and S-video connectors and there are also Ethernet, RS-232 in/out, IR and DDC/CI control ports. It also packs real-time clock and built-in scheduler, which allows for advanced scheduling of monitor powering up/down, AmbiBright sensor, built-in IP tuner for 1080p streaming and ATSC/NTCS/Clear QAM signals (P551-AVT version).
The P551 will be available in August for $3499 and the P551-AVT for $3649.
