Sony announced two new additions to its α (Alpha) digital SLR range, the entry-level DSLR-A390 and DSLR-A290 desogned for first-time DSLR users. The A390 and A290 both feature 14.2 Megapixel image sensor, 40-segment honeycomb-pattern SPC exposure system, image-sensor shift mechanism SteadyShot image stabilization system, built-in flASH and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.

The A390 is the more advanced model offering Live View function and a tilt and swivel screen. Both DSLRs are compatible with Sony A-mount lens, Minolta and Konica Minolta AF lens. The yhave USB 2.0 connector and HDMI mini connector. The Sony α DSLR-A390 and α DSLR-A290 will be available in Summer 2010.
