Simmtronics has partned with IBM and Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, to offer the Simmbook netbook for emerging markets at a low price of US$190. The Simmbook runs the Ubuntu Netbook Remix Linux OS and comes with IBM’s Client for Smart Work which includes IBM Lotus Symphony, access to IBM LotusLive cloud collaboration services.
The Simmbook sports an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and integrated graphics card. It has a 10.1-inch 1024×600 LCD display.
