NVIDIA announced its 3DTV Play software solution that allows users to connect their GeForce GPU-powered desktop or notebook computer to new 3D TVs for big-screen 3D gaming. The new 3DTV Play supports all HDMI 1.4-compatible 3D TVs offering up to 1080p24 resolution. It comes with NVIDIA software and graphics drivers that automatically convert more than 400 games, such as World of Warcraft – Wrath of the Lich King and Battlefield Bad Company 2, to stereoscopic 3D in real time.
Other than gaming, the 3DTV Play also enables full HD Blu-ray 3D playback with real-time GPU accelerated decoding and 3D movie streaming. The software will be released later and costs $39.99.
