Acer introduces the new Aspire 5942 and Aspire 8942 notebook PC, both powered by Intel’s 2010 Core i7, i5 or i3 processors and up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The 18.4-inch Aspire 8942 gets dedicated graphics up to ATI Mobility Radeon HD5850 with 1GB video RAM, while the Aspire 5942 sports up to 1GB Radeon HD5650 GPU.
These Aspire notebooks have up to 640GB hard drive, a DVD SuperMulti burner or Blu-ray drive and a multi-in-one card reader. They feature Dolby-optimized surround sound system with Acer Tuba CineBass booster, Optimized 3rd Generation Dolby Home Theater audio enhancement and True 5.1-channel sound output. The 5942 has built-in stereo speakers and the 8942 has five speakers.
The 18.4-inch screen of the Aspire 8942 offers Full HD 1920×1080 resolution and Aspire 5942’s 15.6-inch display boasts 1366×768 resolution. Both notebooks support Bluetooth, WiFi and optional WiMAX and they have a HDMI output, an ExpressCard/54 slot,an eSATA port, a Crystal Eye webcam, Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint reader and optional DVB-T tuner.
