SDG Systems announced the US release of Bluebird Pidion BIP-6000, a rugged handheld computer produced by Korean company Bluebird. The BIP-6000 sports a XScale PXA320 806MHz processor, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. The device meets the MIL-STD-810F military standard for its ruggedness.
The PDA comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, either a numeric or a QWERTY keypad, a 3 Megapixel camera with LED flash, integrated A-GPS, and a microSD card slot. The BIP-6000 supports quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA mobile networks and WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity. It has built-in D & PDF417 Laser Class II or 1D & 2D CMOS Imager for scanning barcode and integrated RFID reader.
Bluebird’s Pidion BIP-6000 can be loaded with either Windows Mobile or Linux or even Android OS. The price starts at $1560.00.
