ClearPlay offers the new High Definition Filtering DVD Player, which is able to upconvert DVD movies to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p via HDMI output. ClearPlay’s new player is based on ANCCOR’s 747-HD DVD player and comes with the ClearPlay FilterStik 64MB drive that can hold thousands of filters.
ClearPlay’s filtering technology does not physically alter the DVD’s you rent or buy, instead users download filters to the FilterStik (membership is required) and plug it into the DVD player. Users can also customize what to filer and the level of filtering.
ClearPlay’s new DVD player supports playback of DVD-Video, VCD, DVD+R/RW, SVCD, CD-R/RW, Picture CD formats and Dolby Digital 5.1-channel passthrough. It is priced at $119.99.
