Emblaze Mobile unveiled in London its ELSE (known then as Edelweiss) touchscreen smartphone. The device is based on the ELSE INTUITION, a mobile platform based on ACCESS Linix Platform 3.0, jointly developed by ACCESS and Emblaze.
The sleek, stylish, black ELSE is equipped with TI’s OMAP 3430 (ARM Cortex A8) processor, that powers also iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre and Motorola Droid, 256MB RAM and 16GB internal flash memory. It has a 3.47-inch 480×854 capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with advanced stabilization technology and 480p video recording at 30fps. It supports GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity. The device packs also Proximity and Light sensors.
The ELSE supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band WCDMA/HSDPA 3G networks. The handset includes ACCESS Linux Platform v3.0 Advanced UI Engine that enables advanced graphical effects and supports full hardware graphics acceleration via OpenGL ES 2.0. It will be outed as soon as Q2 2010.
