If you are not really satisfied with Atom-powered nettop, this ION barebone PC may be what you want. AOpen Japan has just launched the new XC Mini GP7A-HD mini barebone PC that supports Intel’s Core 2 Duo Penryn processor and up to 4GB of memory.
The GP7A-HD is equipped with NVIDIA ION graphics and offers VGA and HDMI output. It has integrated DVD burner and room for a a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive. You can also find two mini PC Express card slot for expansion. There are also 6-in-1 card reader, onboard audio, eSATA port and six USB ports.
As AOpen is packing Core 2 Duo processor into a nettop-sized chassis, the company has made a custom quiet cooling system with a copper processor heat-sink and integrated fan to reduce heat. The new XC Mini system will be released in December.
