iBuyPower has launched the Chimera 2 Core i7/i5-powered gaming PC as the follow-up to its Chimera system. In total, there are five models, three Intel systems – Chimera 2-E, Chimera 2-F and Killer Chimera 2-F; and two AMD systems – Chimera 2-Q and Killer Chimera 2-Q. All of them have the Inferno 2 Gaming Tower Case with Flame painting.
The Chimera 2-E starts at $1099. The base model packs an Intel Core i5 750 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5750 GPU. The Chimera 2-F, instead, gets Core i7 processor, 6GB RAM and the same Radeon HD 5750. It starts at $1299. The more powerful Killer Chimera 2-F gets what Chimera 2-F has but replace the graphics card with dual 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 cards. The starting price is $1899.
As for the AMD-powered Chimera 2-Q and Killer Chimera 2-Q that starts at $999 and $1449 respectively. The former gets AMD Phenom II X4 925 Quad-Core, 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTS250 and 4GB RAM while the latter packs Phenom II X4 955 Quad-Core CPU, dual 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4770, 8GB of memory.
All these base models have 750GB hard drive (except the Chimera 2-Q with 500GB) and a 22X DVD SuperMulti burner. Both Killer models comes with Killer Xeno Pro network card. You can customize the these gaming PCs with SSD storage, Blu-ray reader or writer, up to 24GB of RAM and more powerful video cards.
