BenQ announced in Taiwan the nReader K60, the company’s first e-book reading device. The K60 features a 6-inch SiPix Microcup touchscreen electronic paper display with 800×600 resolution, 167dpi, and 16 grey scales.
The nReader K60 has 2GB internal memory that is enough for 4000 e-book files and there is a microSD card slot for expansion. The e-reader supports ePub, PDF, HMTL, TXT e-book files as well as JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG image files. It can even playback MP3 audio files. BenQ’s K60 include also support for WiFi 802.11b/g connection and there is a USB port adding optional 3G/3.5G dongle. It gets a 3.5mm audio jack.
BenQ nReader K60 has built-in 1530mAh battery that is good for 7500 pages. It will be released first in Taiwan and China with a price of about 8900 Taiwan Dollars (US$277).
