NEC introduces in Japan the Aterm WM3300R (model PA-WM3300R), a WiMAX to WiFi wireless router. The device works like MiFi routers. Instead of EVDO 3G or UMTS/HSPA 3G, the WM3300R connects to a mobile WiMAX network and share it using WiFi 802.11b/g. It’s battery allows 2.5 hours of use.
The compact WiMAX router can also be connected to a PC via USB and serves as a WiMAX modem. NEC Aterm WM3300R will be released on early November for 25,000 Yen.
