Yamaha announced the PDX-60 wireless iPhone/iPod audio/dock/speaker system. Instead of Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless technology, the PDX-60 utilizes Yamaha‘s yAired technology for wirelessly sending uncompressed audio content from iPod or iPhone, with the yAired transmitter, to the dock’s speakers.
Yamaha’s new system adds remote control capability to iPhones and iPods so users can control the playback directly. The dock also automatically powers on and off with yAired-enabled iPhones/iPods. The Yamaha PDX-60 features built-in digital amplifier and two large 3.25-inch speakers. The yAired cradle is included for charging docked iPhone/iPod.
The Yamaha PDX-60 works with iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone, iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod. It is available in Black, Blue, Gray and Pink for $299.95.
