Sony officially announced its VAIO X series, the world’s lightest notebook PC that has been previewed at the IFA 2009. The VAIO X, like the newly announced VAIO L, runs the latest Windows 7 OS. As the lightest notebook, the X weight just 1.6lbs (0.73kg) with standard battery.
Sony VAIO X boasts an 2GHz Intel processor (probably an Atom), 2GB of memory, onboard Intel GMA 500 graphics, and Intel US15W Chipset. The X has a 11.1-inch 1366×768 LED-backlight display, a built-in MOTION EYE webcam, Electro-Static multi-touch touch pad, a Memory Stick PRO slot and SD card slot. In addition to Bluetooth and WiFi, the VAIO X comes with also Verizon Mobile Broadband module.
Sony VAIO X starts at $1299.99 and is available in Black and Gold.
