Iomega updates its StorCenter ix2 network storage line with the new StorCenter ix2-200, an ideal NAS device for small business users and home users with business data management functionality and advanced media serving features.
The StorCenter ix2-200 is boosted by a 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM. It has two 3.5-inch Easy-Swap SATA-II hard drive bays. The ix2-200 supports RAID 1 with automatic RAID rebuild and JBOD mode and offers iSCSI block-level access. The network storage device can serves as a DLNA certified UPnP AV Media Server, a Time Machine target for Apple Mac, and a Bittorrent client. Bluetooth is also included that allows users to upload photos, contacts and more from a Bluetooth device to the ix2-200.
The Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 is available in 1TB, 2TB or 4TB capacitities and come with integrated EMC Retrospect Express backup software. These models are priced at $269.99, $369.99 and $699.99 respectively.
