Wacom introduces its new family of Bamboo tablets that come with multi-touch. The new Bamboo tablets combine Multi-Touch (finger-based input) with pen input to deliver an entirely new standard in human-computer interaction.
There are three core products in the multi-touch Bamboo family, the Bamboo Touch, Bamboo Pen and Bamboo Pen and Touch and there are also Bamvoo Craft and Bamboo Fun packages.
The Bamboo Touch is a touch-only multi-touch tablet that allows you to navigate, scroll, and accomplish all your tasks using simple hand gestures. The Bamboo Pen, on the other hand, is a pen-only tablet and well suited to end-users who would like to employ the pen for digital ink and creativity. Both of them cost $69.
Then the Bamboo Pen and Touch basically combines the Touch and Pen allowing users to use both pen and Multi-Touch input. The tablet will switch between the two modes automatically – if the finger is in contact with the tablet surface, touch becomes the primary input, if the pen tip is brought into proximity to the tablet surface, touch is automatically turned off and pen input controls the cursor. The Bamboo Pen and Touch is priced at $99.
Also, the Bamboo Craft package includes the Bamboo Pen and Touch and software for today’s scrapbooker and crafter. The Bamboo Fun combines pen and Multi-Touch in a larger-sized tablet than Bamboo Craft or the other Bamboo solutions and is ideal for home creatives or photo enthusiasts. They are priced at $129 and $199 respectively.
