Intel introduces the new Atom CE4100 System-on-Chip (SoC) media processor designed for use in set-top box, DVD players and HD media players. The CE4100 codenamed “Sodaville” is a 45nm-manufactured consumer electronics (CE) SoC running at a 1.2GHz clock speed. It supports Precision View Technology display processing engine to support high-definition picture quality and Intel Media Play Technology for seamless audio and video.
The Atom CE4100 does hardware decode of up to two 1080p video streams and advanced 3-D graphics and audio standards supporting MPEG4, DivX Home Theater 3.0 videos. Intel’s CE4100 media processors is able to handle Adobe Flash 10 and 3D gaming as well.
