Sharp AQUOS BD-HP52U Blu-ray Player

Sharp announced at the CEDIA 2009 the new AQUOS BD-HP52U Blu-ray Disc player. The player supports BD-ROM Profile 2.0 for BD Live interactive features through an Ethernet jack-enabled Internet connection allowing users to to download and stream bonus content.

The AQUOS BD-HP52U plays Blu-ray at 1920×1080 Full HD at 24fps. It can upscale DVD standard definition signals and supports playback of AVCHD video. It is equipped with HQ Audio Circuits with an upgraded power supply that provides better sound and picture quality and delivers dynamic 7.1 Channel audio and true to life video. Supported surround-sound formats include Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio via HDMI digital output and Dolby Digital Plus.

The device supports BD-ROM/RE/R, DVD Video, DVD-RW/R, DVD+RW/R, audio CDs, MP3 as well as JPEG images. It has HDMI 1.3 digital output with Deep Color and x.v. color. An RS-232 connector is available for external control system. Sharp will release the AQUOS BD-HP52U in October for $379.99.
