Canon revives its PowerShot S-series by introducing the new PowerShot S90 digital camera that borrowing its good looks from the PowerShot Digital ELPH line and its high-end functionality from the PowerShot G-series.

The PowerShot S90 is a compact 10 Megapixel camera with DIGIC 4 image processor, a 3.8x optical zoom lens with 28mm wide-angle and f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, Dual Anti-Noise System, and a 3-inch PureColor II LCD display. The camera includes ISO up to 3200, Smart Auto with Scene Detection Technology, Face Detection and 4x digital zoom.

Canon PowerShot S90 lacks 720p HD video shooting capability but captures 640×480 video at 30fps. It does offer HDMI mini connector, however. It supports SD/SDHC and MMC cards. To be launched in October, the PowerShot S90 will be priced at $429.99.
