HTC is planning the launch of three new Windows Mobile-based smartphones, the Whitestone, the Mega and the Tachi (or Taichi?). The Whitestone is basically the GSM/CDMA dual mode version of the HTC Touch Diamond2 and will be released as Verizon Diamond 2 (XV6975) in the US.
The Whitestone gets a Qualcomm 7600 528MHz processor, 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM. It has a 3.6-inch touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera and gpsOne chipset for aGPS and GPS support. The phone will come in September or October with Windows Mobile 6.1.
HTC Mega, on the other hand, is an entry-level smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.5. Boosted by Qualcomm 7225 528MHz processor, the Mega packs 256MB ROM and 256MB RAM. It features a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, gpsOne and support for HSDPA.
The HTC Tachi/Taichi is intended for China market and will be released with dopod branding.
