Sony finally made its PRS-300 and PRS-600 e-book readers official. Both PRS-300 Reader Pocket Edition and PRS-600 Reader Touch Edition have an E Ink Vizplex electronic paper display with 800×600 resolution and 8-level gray scale, 512MB internal memory and supports USB connection.
The PRS-300 Reader Pocket Edition has a 5-inch display while the PRS-600 Reader Touch Edition gets a 6-inch touchscreen panel. The latter will also has built-in Oxford American English Dictionary and expansion slots for MS Pro Duo and SD cards.
Sony’s new Readers supports EPUB, BBeB Book, PDF, Word, Text file, RTF formats. The PRS-600 can also play MP3, AAC audio and view JPEG, PNG, GIF and BMP images.
The PRS-300 Reader Pocket Edition will be priced at $199 while the PRS-600 Reader Touch Edition will come in red, black and silver for $299.
