Kodak introduces the Zi8 pocket-sized camcorder that can record Full HD 1080p videos, beating its competitor Flip Ultra HD. The Zi8 is the successor of the Zi6. It features a 5 Megapixel CMOS image sensor, 4X digital zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD display.
Kodak Zi8 can record 1920x1080p Full HD video at 30fps and 720p video at 60fps. Videos are encoded using H.264 codec in MOV format. Videos can be uploaded to Facebook and YouTube easily. The pocket camcorder has integrated microphone and speaker. In addition to 128MB internal memory, it has a SD/SDHC card slot.
The Zi8 offers USb 2.0, AV out as well as HDMI output. It will be released in September in Black, Red and Blue for $180. At the same price, the Flip Ultra HD does only 720p recording.
