Canon announced in Japan the iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11 Full HD digital camcorders, both come with 64GB internal storage. They can record AVCHD video at up to 24Mbps Full HD resolution in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. Both camcorders are equipped with Canon’s DIGIC DV III image processor.
The iVIS HF21 features a 1/4-inch 3.89 Megapixel CMOS sensor and a 15x optical zoom lens. It offers 60x digital zoom. iVIS HF S11, instead gets a 1/2.6-inch 8.59 Megapixel sensor, a 10x optical zoom lens and has 40x digital zoom. They both provide optical stabilization, and face detection.
With the 64GB internal memory, these camcorders can record about six hours of Full HD video and there is a SDHC card slot for expansion. Both iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11 have a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD display, a HDMI output port and USB port. They will be released on August 2009.
