Borg Display introduces two new touchscreen PC that runs Windows XP embedded, the 8-inch Protege 8 and 15-inch Protege 15. Both are housed in a rugged steel backbox with acrylic white bezel.
The Protege 8 is powered by embedded AMD Geode LX-800 500MHz processor while the Protege 15 sports a VIA V4 Eden 1GHz processor with VCX700M graphics chipset. They have up to 1GB RAM and up to 4GB flash memory as well as a CF card slot. Both PCs have MPEG2 hardware accelerator built-in.
The Protege 8 has a 8-inch 800×600 LCD display and the Protege 15 gets a 15-inch 1024×768 LCD screen. The latter comes with also a CMOS camera. You can find also Ethernet LAN port, built-in speaker, two USB ports and two RS232 connectors.
Other than Windows XP, both models are also available with Linux OS and Firefox. The Linux versions are known as WebMaster, instead of Protege.
