Amazon officially announced its previously leaked Kindle DX wireless reading device. The Kindle DX features a large 9.7-inch e-ink screen with 16 shades of gray and auto-rotate capability; built-in PDF reader and 3.3GB memory for holding up to 3500 books.
Like the Kindle 2, the Kindle DX supports 3G wireless connectivity so you can download books right from your Kindle DX and Amazon will pay the charges. The reader includes also built-in 250,000 word New Oxford American Dictionary, Text-to-speech technology that converts words on a page to spoken word and web serch function.
To be shipped in Summer, the Kindle DX is now available for pre-order for $489.
