Canon officially announced its new Rebel T1i (known as EOS 500D in Asia and Europe markets and EOS Kiss X3 in Japan) digital SLR camera which is able to do HD video capture. As the successor of the EOS 450D/Rebel Xsi, he Rebel T1i/EOS 500D features a 15.1 Megapixel CMOS APS-C size CMOS image sensor and the new DIGIC 4 image processor. It offers ISO speeds from 100 to 3200 along with two additional high-speed ISO settings – H1: 6400 and H2: 12800.
The Rebel T1i does 3.4 frame-per-second continoues shotting for up to 170 large/fine JPEG images or up to nine RAW images in a single burst. The new DSLR includes HD video recording ability. It can do 16:9 720p HD video capture at 30 fps ora Full HD 1080p video capture at 20 fps. There is an HDMI output for you to show your HD video/images on a HDTV. You can also expect a 3-inch LCD display, 9-pint auto focus and EOS Integrated Cleaning System.
Canon Rebel T1i / EOS 500D supports SD/SDHC memory cards. It is priced at $799.99 or as a kit with Canon’s EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens at $899.99. Along with the Rebel T1i, Canon announced also the Speedlite 270EX for the use with the DSLR.
