Onkyo presents three new home theater receivers, including the TX-SR607 that is the world’s first AV receiver to feature Dolby’s new ProLogic IIz processing. The new receiver is also the world’s first 7.2-channel home cinema receiver with the Dolby Pro-Logic IIz mode. The Dolby ProLogic IIz introduces a vertical aspect to the sound field through the addition of left and right-channel front height speakers mounted above the main speakers.
Onkyo TX-SR607 has six HDMI inputs including a front-panel HDMI input. There is another model, TXSR507. Both models have HDMI repeaters, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio processing. The entry-level TXSR307 has three inputs and HDMI pass-through switching.
All these three new AV receivers offer Blu-ray support and other HD audio and video source components. They support 1080p, Deep Color, and x.v.Color. The 7.2-channel Onkyo TX-SR607 is rated at 90 watts per channel while the 5.1-channel TXSR507 and TXSR307 offers 65- and 80-watts per channel amplifiers respectively.
The Onkyo TX-SR607 will be available in April for $599 and the other two model in March for $399 and $299 respectively.
