In additiont to the SD970 IS and SD960 IS, Canon presents two more SD series models, the PowerShot SD780 IS and SD1200 IS.
The PowerShot SD780 IS is a fashionanle ELPH camera which has a ultra slim, modern look and will be available in Black, Red, Silver and Gold. SD780 IS is a 12.1 Megapixle camera with 3x optical zoom. It can record 1280x720p video clips and has integrated HDMI connector. Blink Detection is also included.
The SD1200 IS is an entry-level Digital ELPH camera that will come in six bright colors, including dark gray, blue, pink, green, light gray and orange. It has 10 Megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom.
Both cameras feature Smart Auto and Face Detection. They will be released in Mid-March 2009. The PowerShot SD780 IS has a retail price of $329.99 while the PowerShot SD1200 IS costs $229.99.
Note: PowerShot SD780 IS is known as IXY DIGITAL 210 IS and PowerShot SD1200 IS as IXY DIGITAL 110 IS in Japan. The former is known as Digital IXUS 100 IS in Europe while the latter as Digital IXUS 95 IS in Europe.
