Panasonic presents the Lumix DMC-TS1, the world’s first waterproof, shockproof and dustproof digital camera. Like the ZS3, the Lumix TS1 has AVCHD Lite 720p High Definition (HD) video recording capabilities. It is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR 4.6x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-TS1 features the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode with Face Detection, Mega Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.), Intelligent Exposure as well as Intelligent Scene Selector. It is powered by a Venus Engine HD with two CPUs offering 2.4x processing capability, ISO up to 6400 and HDMI output.

The rugged DMC-TS1 is waterproof to a depth of 10 feet, shockproof from falls up to 5 feet, and dustproof. It has rubber padding, reinforced glass and carbon resins inside the camera and an airtight body protected against water immersion, dust and sand.

Comes in silver, green, orange or blue (in Europe), the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 will be available in April for $399.95.
