Sony announced four new Full HD 1080p Handycam camcorders, including HDR-XR520V, HDR-XR500V, HDR-XR200V and HDR-XR100.
The Handycam HDR-XR520V and HDR-XR500V both feature a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor offering twice the sensitivity compare to previous models. They have Sony’s G lens, high-speed BIONZ imaging processor, and Optical Steady Shot stabilization. HDR-XR520V and HDR-XR500V come with 240GB and 120GB hard dirve respectively.
You can also expect built-in GPS antenna and NAVTEQ digital maps for video and photo geo-tagging on HDR-XR520V, HDR-XR500V, HDR-XR200V models. HDR-XR200V has a 120GB hard drive and HDR-XR100 comes with 80GB. Memory Stick PRO Duo are also supported.
All these new HD camcorders support AVCHD with 5.1-channel surround sound recording and has a built-in zoom microphone and a 3.2-inch wide touch display. These Handycam camcorders feature Smile Shutter technology and Face Detection.
Sony’s new Full HD camcorder will be shipped in March. Pricing:
